Good morning, beauties! I am so excited to share today’s post with you all. If you haven’t already guessed by the not-so-mysterious post title, it is the much anticipated and highly requested: home sweet beauty living room tour!
Alex and I bought our first home last October and have been smitten ever since. I immediately fell in love with the high ceilings, amazing amount of natural light and fresh feel. There’s nothing quite like living in a space you love! A place where you can go to instantly feel happy. The living room is one of my favorites in our home and does just that!
As I shared in my “7 Tips for Styling Your Coffee Table” post, my mom is an interior designer, so I grew up with a major love for giving a space it’s personality. She has a phenomenal eye for design and I try and soak up all he knowledge I can every time I enlist her help. Thanks Mom, hehe!
One of the best pieces of advices that she has given me about decorating a space is “don’t buy everything all at once”. Admittedly, this is much easier said than done, but totally worth it in the end! We spent about 6 months prior to even moving in hunting down the perfect pieces to bring the space together and have continued to make additions since.
The latest addition to this room: our tropical plant! I knew that I wanted to add a little life to the room and became obsessed with the idea of finding a tropical friend. Is it weird that I fully plan on naming our plant?! Taking suggestions! 🙂
I’ve been looking forward to sharing this living room tour for a while now, but kept pushing it because it’s hard to really feel like the room is finished. But, then I realized that that’s ok! It’s ok to add, change up, and evolve over-time. That’s part of the fun of it!
