16 Week Bumpdate

Thank you all so much for the outpouring of love you showered Alex and I with on our announcement post. We were so overwhelmed with all of the sweet comments and how excited you guys were! Y’all are truly the best.

I asked you guys on Snapchat and Instagram if you’d like to see these updates monthly, biweekly or weekly and weekly won by a long shot! I love that you guys are excited to follow along on this journey, because I am definitely excited to share it.

Starting next week, I’ll wait and do these posts every Thursday on what I call my ‘change over day’, but I just couldn’t wait this week :). My ‘change over day’ is the day each week that I officially flip weeks. In this case, tomorrow I will officially be 16 weeks, but we can pretend for today!

Yesterday, we went to our 16-week appointment. My doctor actually doesn’t work on Thursdays, so we’ve been typically scheduling our appointments on Tuesdays, two days shy of my official 16-week date. The appointment was pretty short and easy – we didn’t have an ultrasound, but we did listen to the heartbeat and they checked my vitals as well. It’s such a good feeling to hear baby’s heartbeat and know that he or she is doing well in there!

How far along: 15 weeks and 6 days. I’ll be 16 weeks tomorrow!

How big is baby: Baby A is the size of an orange this week (4.02 inches and 2.50 ounces) and he or she will be an avocado tomorrow! I love finding out the size each week 🙂

Maternity clothes: Jeans! I definitely can’t fit into my jeans anymore, so I’ve gotten maternity denim but nothing else. For most other purchases, I’ve just been sizing up and that’s been working great.

Sleep: I’ve been sleeping pretty well, tossing and turning a bit, but not having to get up as much as I did in the beginning.

Miss Anything: SUSHI. There’s nothing like being told not to eat something that makes you really crave it.

Movement: I’ve felt a few little flutters. It kind of feels like little popcorn popping! I only feel it occasionally. Our doctor said that we’ll really start feeling baby move between weeks 20 and 22.

Cravings: Well, no surprises with my strongest craving of the week — Chipotle!

How I’m feeling: Pretty good! I’ve definitely gotten most of my energy back. I had a random morning sickness a few days ago! I called my doctor (told you guys they MUST know my name and date of birth by now lol) and they said that that’s pretty common and can happen due to a surge of hormones.

That’s it for today, beauties! Thank you all so much for stopping by and taking the time to read this post and follow our journey. xx
