How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Hi beauties!

Today’s post is going to be short, sweet and hopefully helpful. I’ve gotten a ton of questions from you guys recently about how I clean my makeup brushes, so I thought it would be fun to share how I do it as well as a few of my favorite go-to’s!

What I Use

I like to keep it as simple as possible and really only use one product – the Beauty Blender cleanser. I’ve used both the liquid and solid and find that the solid works much better and is super easy to travel with! I’ve tried a few different methods and using this cleanser is the quickest and easiest (which I am ALL about these days)!

What You’ll Need

The cleanser, a hand towel and your brushes.

How to

When I say this is easy, I mean really easy! All I do is run the brush under the water and then swirl the brush around on the soap. Once I’ve gotten a good amount of the cleanser on the bristles, I move the brush on the palm of my hand to help work the soap all around. You’ll start to see all of the pigment pour out of the bristles. Continue to swirl it in the soap, then in your hand until all of the color is gone and your brushes look new! Once they’re totally clean, gently remove any excess by squeezing the brushes with your fingers and then lay them flat on a towel.

BYOB Tip

Make sure that you lay the brushes flat to dry! You never want to stand them up in a container or anything while they’re wet because the water can soak down and loosen the glue that binds everything together, shortening the life of your brushes!

I hope this helps! I can do a full post detailing why I love each brush and what I use them both if you want, just comment and let me know! For now, I’ve linked a few of my favorite everyday brushes below. xx
