Holiday Makeup Tutorial : Red Lips + Winged Liner

TGIF – I still can’t believe it’s December! My Christmas cheer is on a whole new level this year (especially according to my daily cookie intake). Lately, I’ve been sharing holiday outfit ideas, but have yet to chat beauty, so today I’m super excited to share one of my all-time favorite looks. If you follow me on instagram, this will come as no surprise to you (it’s been on major repeat for me, I’m talking daily!). Yup – my signature holiday look. Red lips and winger liner :). Perfect for day or night, this pretty holiday duo will look great on all babes of all ages, skin tones and eye colors and is sure to polish off any look. Oh, and did I mention it’s super easy?! Ok, let’s do this…

The short version….

Redlips

The step by step…

Step 1

Primer + Shadow (I used my Lorac Pro Palette 2 for all the shadows):

Prime your eyelids with Mac paint pot in the color Painterly. Just put this all over your eyelid! This acts as a blank canvas and will help you shadow stick and last all day/night.

Then, grab a fluffy crease brush and put a transition color in your crease. You don’t have to be precise with it! Just go back in forth in windshield wiper motions, buffing the color evenly.

Lastly, use a highlighter shade for the lid, under the brow and the inner corners.

Step 2:

Wing it out!:

Use you favorite liquid liner and go to town! You can really have fun with this part – for day time I like going with something classic, my two favorites are this Kat Von D tattoo liner for a matte look, or this Stila one for a more glossy feel. To amp this up for night time, I love making the wing a little more dramatic and using the You’re So Fine “glitterati” liquid liner from Elizabeth Mott! I discovered this gorgeous liner in my Beauty Box 5 Sparkles box  (the whole box was amaze! Two of my other beauty favorites from the box were the highlighter and peppermint flavor lip gloss! This necklace was also included- I’m obsessed!). I love it because it has a little bit of fine glitter that once applied looks super glossy and just adds a party feel to the whole look – perfect for the holidays!

Step 3:

Load on the mascara! Lately, I’ve been obsessed with this one. It give amazing volume and the gold packing is oh-so-festive!

Step 4:

Line and fill in:

Line you lips with your favorite red pencil. This Mac prolong wear one because it’s the perfect true red and the formula is very long wearing! Tip – Once you’re done lining you lips, completely fill them in. This will help you lipstick last all day or night!

Step 5:

Bring on the red!:

My favorite part of the look – putting on the final touches. If you’re wearing this look for a holiday party, make sure you use a long wearing lipstick that won’t budge all night. I LOVE this Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. It is the most beautiful brick red and lasts forever!
