Happy December! I thought it would be fun to kick the month off with one of my favorite holiday recipes, puppy chow! Every year we make two huge batches (one of this recipe and one with white chocolate and m&m’s, stay tuned for that) and keep them out in big glass cookie jars in the kitchen. It’s perfect when you need an afternoon pick-me-up, something to bring as a hostess gift or just something to have and keep out when you have people over.
It’s also super easy to make and if you have little ones, would be fun to get their “help” with because it’s made sans a stove or oven.
We love to add peanuts and raisins into ours, but you could leave them out if that’s not your thing. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 stick margarine
12 oz. chocolate chips (2 cups)
1 cup peanut butter
1 box corn Chex
1 box raisins
1 cup unsalted peanuts
1 box powdered sugar
Melt:
1 stick margarine
12 oz. chocolate chips (2 cups)
1 cup peanut butter
Mix:
1 box corn Chex
1 box raisins
1 cup unsalted peanuts
Combine the mixed ingredients with the melted ingredients making sure all is covered with chocolate. Put 1/2 box of powdered sugar in a paper bag and pour in wet ingredients, add second half of the powdered sugar and shake until all pieces are covered in powdered sugar.
